My studies in massage and bodywork began in Eugene, Oregon in 1993. After completing my studies and earning my license to practice massage, I travelled to Thailand where i was to spend the next three months studying and honing my skills as a student and practitioner of Nu’ad Bo Rarn (Traditional Thai Massage). Upon returning home to Pennsylvania in 1995, I immediately began to introduce people to this form of bodywork commonly referred to as Thai massage. In 1996 I began teaching workshops in basic Thai massage techniques at yoga studios in the Pittsburgh area while continuing to practice. With my knowledge of Thai bodywork and my further studies in Shiatsu as well as Chinese medicine, I began teaching Shiatsu at a school just outside of Pittsburgh in 1998 and began my formal training in Shiatsu in 1999. In the Spring of that year I also opened the doors of my practice. In 2002 I began teaching at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy and I have continued in the role of senior Shiatsu instructor at the school into the present.
