Thai Massage
The practice of Thai massage is a blending of acupressure and assisted yogic stretching. Guiding the body through series of gentle stretches while applying pressure to Sen (channels or pathways of connection), the therapist address the specific needs of the client while continuing to work within the boundaries of comfort and ability. This combination works to aid in the elimination of toxins from the body while increasing flexibility and promoting proper functioning of the body’s physiological systems. The combination of movement and applied pressure work together to open the body and effect a balance between the mind, body, and spirit leaving the receiver with a greater sense of calm while assisting them on the path towards renewed health.
During a typical session the receiver is guided through a series of passive yogic stretches while pressure is applied along the body’s vital energy pathways. The therapist uses a combination of finger, palm, elbow, knee, and foot techniques to assist the receiver in the process of opening and release.
